Adult Mental Health 101

Facilitator: Chasity Rush is a graduate of Wright State University with a Masters of Rehabilitation Counseling. She is a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor (LICDC) with supervising status, as well as a licensed professional counselor with supervision designation (LPCC-S) in the State of Ohio. She has been employed by Talbert House since 2013 and is currently serving as a Clinical Supervisor. Prior to transitioning to her current position, Chasity was the Associate Director of the Institute for Training and Development and Associate Director in Community Corrections with the Agency. Her experience in direct care includes substance use disorder and mental health treatment.

Workshop Description: Community corrections professionals serve clients who often arrive at our doors with behavioral health needs. This training will cover mental health disorders that are common in the justice involved adult population. The training will attempt to increase understanding and empathy for how these disorders present and impact the behavior and functioning of individuals and their support system. Finally, the training will address common treatment approaches for the aforementioned disorders.
