On April 10, OCCA members spent the day in Columbus meeting with legislators and other key stakeholders to discuss how halfway houses and community based correctional facilities are working to reduce recidivism, assist criminal justice involved individuals in getting on track to law-abiding, productive lives, and create safer, healthier communities across Ohio.
The day concluded with the Annual Legislative Reception at the Ohio Statehouse. This year OCCA members were especially pleased to be able to celebrate longtime champion of common sense criminal justice reform, Rep. Bill Seitz,, with the 2024 OCCA Legislator of the Year award.
